![]() I went open box because it is $80-$100 cheaper (depending if you go Retail or OEM) and others have bought open box Bad Axe 2's from and had no problems and/or missing parts. I made this decision because it is nearly 100% compatible, is generally trouble-free, and works with PC_EFI vanilla kernel. A friend who has the same setup as me formated to GUID with EFI v7.2, and with AHCI mode enabled in the bios, the hard drives appear as removable storage drives, switching to SATA mode in the bios fixes this, but I think he reported having some sort of error message on startup.Īfter weeks of searching and researching different options I decided to go with a Retail "Open Box" Bad Axe 2 for my system. In the upcoming week, i'll be formatting using a GUID partition and EFI v8. I'm trying to think if i'm forgetting anything, but this is all I can remember off the top of my head. ![]() I haven't had any issues rebooting or shutting down. I believe the JMicron chipset will also work with some hacking, but I haven't tried. Sleep/Wake - Although I didn't make much of an attempt to get this working as I normally leave my rig on.
